The Tour de France did their official 2015 route presentation this week. Now it’s time for all the tour companies to get their Tour de France trips in place. You can expect details of these tours to be released in the upcoming months. While many cycling tour companies do trips built around following the Tour each year, there are only 6 companies that are Tour de France Official Tour Operators, as designated by the ASO.
These guys will get you behind the scenes of the race like no one else can, with special VIP access to finish line zones and the Tour de France village, and meeting teams and riders. You will also get to ride on the actual stage route hours before the peloton, ride cross the finish line and climb onto the podium!

There are a number of categories involved. Firstly you need to be able to ensure that your company is financially stable, in France this is also necessary as part of being a licensed tour operator. From there you need to demonstrate that you are experienced and competent in the delivery of top level cycling programs. There is obviously an investment that you need to be prepared to make also to gain access to the hospitality and associated accreditation and marketing support.
